I strive (probably not always successfully) to mean what I say and say what I mean. Therefore, when someone asks me a question and then doubts my answer, it really irks me. As if I’m lying. “Are you sure?” It just happened and then the dude had the nerve to ask someone else. I totally called him out on it, too.
Matthew 5:37 (NIV) says:
“Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.”
